Nestled in the heart of the Catlins, on the edge of the Catlin’s estuary our well-established camp offers a truly special slice of nature that’s rarely found elsewhere in New Zealand. Surrounded by stunning landscapes, it’s the perfect base to relax, explore, and reconnect with the outdoors.

We offer a wide range of camping options, including powered and non-powered sites and cabins spread throughout the grounds — some with beautiful views overlooking the estuary. Guests have access to excellent facilities, including safe drinking water, clean toilet amenities, a laundry with commercial washers and dryers, and a fully equipped kitchen with gas and electric cooking, microwave ovens, and more to make your stay comfortable and easy.

There’s plenty to do during your stay.  There are walking tracks (some starting from the camp) that invite you to explore the surrounding natural beauty. Families will love the fantastic local Playground and domain, while anglers can try their luck catching sea trout. If golf is more your style, a course is conveniently located just down the road.

Our camp is alive with birdlife, including native tūī and bellbirds which fill the air with their distinctive songs. And just a short distance away is Surat bay beach — perfect for peaceful walks, wildlife spotting, and soaking in the raw beauty of the Catlins coastline.
